Support EDA

Eating Disorders Anonymous is self-supporting through its own contributions. (This is EDA’s 7th Tradition.)

The only requirement for EDA membership is a desire to recover from an eating disorder.

(This is EDA’s 3rdTradition).
There are no dues or fees for EDA membership.

This page explains how to support EDA. Looking for support for your recovery? Please check out our literature page, our audios, the EDA Big Book, and our meetings pages: Face-to-FaceChat Room, and Phone/Zoom.

The best way to support EDA is to carry the message of recovery directly to those in your community who could benefit from your experience, strength and hope — no matter where you are in your recovery journey. Check the Service tab for ideas.

While there are no dues or fees for EDA membership, the General Service Board of EDA incurs expenses in helping EDA groups carry the message of recovery. Such expenses include the costs of:

  • Website hosting, including security features and backups
  • Discounted EDA books and shipping to EDA groups that order them
  • Online meeting management software
  • Accounting software
  • Survey management tools
  • Anticipated future costs include publishing new books such as the EDA Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, EDA Daily Meditations, and Spanish and German translations of the EDA Big Book.

We meet such expenses through voluntary contributions from EDA groups and EDA members.
