I was encouraged to start service work to help strengthen my recovery. I took the advice and not only started the first face-to-face EDA group in my area, but also began helping the EDA General Service Board with literature development. All of this has helped me stay focused on the right things and keeps me from being so self-absorbed; I have discovered life really isn’t all about me. I want recovery and I am willing to trust that I can have more peace and freedom—if I just keep doing the work.
EATING DISORDERS ANONYMOUS (EDA)
EDA is a Twelve-Step fellowship of individuals who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problems and help others to recover from their eating disorders. People can and do fully recover from having an eating disorder. The only requirement for membership is a desire to recover from an eating disorder.
