A Perspective on Balance (Big Book 493)
Happily, I have come to understand that I do not have to be “perfect” in any, let alone all, aspects of my life to be in balance. All I need is a modicum of strength and stability in four areas: physical, mental/intellectual, emotional/social, and spiritual/purpose-oriented. Like the legs of a chair, as soon as any one of these areas gets weak or compromised, I am at risk of falling on my rear. I’ve found it isn’t so hard to spend a little time each day maintaining the “legs of my chair.”
